RMB 100 Million Series A Financing Completed! ARCHIBIO Accelerates Toward a New Journey in 100,000-Tonne Enzymatic Recycling

跳转到章节

ARCHIBIO has completed a hundred-million-yuan Series A financing.

This round was invested in by institutions including Guotai Haitong, Xiamen ITG Capital, Jinqiao Fund, and Wangrui Capital, while existing shareholders such as Beiyang Haitang Fund continued to follow on.

The proceeds will mainly be used for technology iteration, early-stage construction, and market promotion of the 100,000-tonne production line, driving the company from pilot and thousand-tonne engineering validation further toward large-scale industrial production.

Hundreds of Tonnes, Thousands of Tonnes, Tens of Thousands of Tonnes: The Technological Confidence Behind Capacity Leaps

ARCHIBIO focuses on the R&D and industrialization of bio-enzymatic recycling technology for waste PET plastic.

The core advantage of bio-enzymatic recycling is that, in a mild aqueous environment at room temperature and pressure, highly efficient PET-degrading enzymes can precisely cleave PET molecular chains, depolymerizing waste PET into monomers—rPTA (recycled purified terephthalic acid) and rEG (recycled ethylene glycol)—which are then polymerized into RB®PET (recycled polyester), enabling endless recycling of plastic waste.

More importantly, bio-enzymatic recycling can handle complex feedstocks that traditional recycling methods struggle to process, such as polyester-cotton blends and polyester-spandex blends, opening up a full-chain recycling pathway from “waste textiles to recycled fibers.”

From hundreds of tonnes to thousands of tonnes and then to the planned tens of thousands of tonnes, ARCHIBIO’s capacity expansion has followed a clear three-step scale-up:

2024: 300 tpa rPTA pilot line

The world’s first enzymatic recycled PTA pilot line was built and put into operation, validating the feasibility of the technology route.

2026: 6,500 tpa recycled PET line

Construction began in early 2026, and the first products are expected to come off the line in the fourth quarter. The implementation of the thousand-tonne line means ARCHIBIO will become the world’s first company truly capable of designing a complete process package for bio-enzymatic recycling technology.

2027: Launch of the 100,000-tonne line

The company is actively preparing for it. Once operational, costs are expected to fall by another 30% compared with the 6,500-tonne line.

Three Financing Rounds in 12 Months: Behind the Continued Capital Injection

From September 2025 to August 2026, ARCHIBIO completed three financing rounds within 12 months, with multiple existing shareholders continuing to increase their investments. Behind this is the capital market’s growing consensus that “biological recycling has now reached a cost inflection point and is expected to become the ultimate solution.”

September 2025

Tianchuang Capital exclusively invested tens of millions of yuan in the pre-A++ round.

November 2025

Toyota Tsusho (Shanghai) made a strategic investment.

August 2026

Guotai Haitong and Jinqiao Fund led the hundred-million-yuan Series A, with existing shareholders such as Beiyang Haitang Fund following on.

This Series A brought in institutions such as Guotai Haitong and Jinqiao Fund as new investors, while existing shareholders such as Beiyang Haitang Fund continued to follow on. This reflects investors’ strong recognition of the company’s technology route, engineering capabilities, and commercialization progress.

Give Every Piece of Plastic a Second Life

PET is one of the most produced synthetic polymer materials in the world, widely found in beverage bottles, clothing, home textiles, car seat belts, films, and engineering materials. China generates tens of millions of tonnes of waste PET every year, but the proportion that is truly high-value recycled remains very low.

ARCHIBIO’s mission is to “make the world better through regeneration”—to enable every piece of plastic waste to achieve true circularity through enzymatic recycling technology, moving from linear consumption to perpetual circularity, so that a finite Earth can sustain infinite life and creation.

The completion of this Series A marks that ARCHIBIO has officially moved from the technology R&D validation stage into a critical period of large-scale industrial production.

In the future, the company will accelerate capacity scaling, provide low-cost, high-quality recycled raw material solutions for downstream textiles, packaging, electronics, and other sectors, and drive the recycling of polymer plastics from “low-efficiency recycling” toward a “high-value, green” transformation.

Thank you to every investor, partner, and team member for their trust and support.

Let circularity become the norm, and regeneration become the starting point.
